It Is Important to Understand the Signs of the Times
It is important for us to realize the times and seasons we are living in. Our way of life is under assault and is polarized and divided more than at any time I can remember. Most people can see there is an obvious spiritual battle going on with evil forces. These evil forces are at work in the earth going about destroying and corrupting everything that is good.
The sons of Issachar were mentioned several times in the Bible. They were known for their ability to discern and understand the times with spiritual wisdom and insight from God. Issachar was one the twelve sons of Jacob.
32And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; … (1 Chronicles 12:32 KJV)
I believe God wants us to be like the sons of Issachar and understand the times we are living in and know what we should do for our nation and the world.
The Bible Says the Last Days Will Be Dangerous Times Full Great Stress and Trouble
The Bible tells us in the last days before the return of King Jesus Christ will be perilous, troubling and dangerous times.
1But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear]. 2For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, 3[and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, 4traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. (1 Timothy 3:1 Amplified Version)
Does this sound like the times we are experiencing? Yes, we are living in the last days! The last days will end when Jesus Christ return to earth at his Second Coming to set up his kingdom and rule the nations from Jerusalem, Israel.
There is an urgency in the air now concerning the fate of our nation and other nations in the world. The signs are pointing to the return of King Jesus Christ. Like birth pains the signs of the returns of King Jesus Christ will grow more frequent and severe.
Whose Side Will You Be on When King Jesus Christ Returns?
At the First Coming of Jesus Christ, he was as a humble, suffering, sinless Messiah. His death on the cross would pay the penalty for everyone’s sins and make it possible for anyone who believes in him to have their sins forgiven. This results in a person being born-again from the inside out and being reconciled to God.
The First Coming of Jesus Christ made it possible for anyone who calls upon his names to receive eternal life. This means you are saved from the eternal the wicked. God is a holy God. Being born-again by the Holy Spirit of God by believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to escape the wrath coming to those who reject God’s mercy and kindness.
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be unexpected as a thief in the night. The Second Coming will be a day of reckoning. Jesus Christ will return from heaven with his heavenly armies of saints and angels as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will destroy the evil armies surrounding Israel to wipe the nation off the face of the earth. They will quickly be defeated, and he his kingdom will replace all other kingdoms past and present forever!
We know every word of God is true. The end of the book of Revelation describes the Second Coming of King Jesus Christ quite dramatically. This word will come to pass as describe.
11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:11-16 KJV)
It is not a pleasant thought to think about the death of millions maybe billions who are living in the world who do not know Jesus Christ. When he returns at his Second Coming, the time of his patience and mercy has run out. No is the time for his wrath to be poured out on those who reject his sacrifice and mercy. You see, when you reject the savior of the world, Jesus Christ, you will face his wrath unless you turn to him before you die. There is a time coming when decisions will be made that will seal your eternal destiny. Will you be on the winning side during the Battle of Armageddon? Or will you be on the losing side and face an eternity experiencing the eternal wrath of God.
